Woodpecker House

Part of our South Coast Cottages Collection
South Coast Cottages is the sister-brand of New Forest Escapes.
These houses are chosen because they are comfortable, premium and within 45 minutes drive of the coast.

Perfect for groups who want a base to explore from. Whether you are travelling by foot, bike or by car, staying here gives you easy access to the National Park and lots of beaches along the coast. Walk there in under 25 mins. Lymington town is a 10 minute walk to the top end of the high street.

The feel here is of a relaxed family home. It’s clutter free and well set up for holidaymakers. Downstairs is smart, comfortable and the sitting room is a good size. Upstairs two bedrooms are bigger and the third has a truckle pull out bed.

Dogs and children are welcome here. The house is set back from the road behind two sets of gates which means that only Houdini’s will get anywhere near escaping. There is a small and well planted garden to the front which gets masses of summer sun. From June onwards the existing garden house is going to be moved and set up as an outdoor seating area.

Picnics on the New Forest heath are 15 minutes walk away. You can cycle here too. Walk to the beach 25 minutes away, or cycle there via various lanes and tracks in 15 minutes. We love the cycle toward Keyhaven on the footpaths. The little beaches here are just so lovely, particularly the ones you reach by bike or foot.
By car you can reach Keyhaven village in 5 minutes. This is fabulous for boat trips to Hurst Castle.  Slightly further on are the lovely Milford on Sea beaches.

The location...

Lymington is often in The Times ‘Top 10 places to live in the UK’.  Obviously we are totally biased and agree. It is marvellous. The quality of life here is very good. The town is surrounded by National Park to the north, coastal otherwise. There is a good mix of industry (boats) and retail. Less obvious is the connection to the rural workings of the National Park itself.
